YOUTH INITIATIVE
Vision
"Thriving Youth-Strong Communities"
“In two to five years the service delivery and support system
for youth will have evolved to a place where providers and other
concerned parties work together routinely and as such have the flexibility
to be increasingly responsive in creative ways to accomplish positive
change in the state of well-being for Windham County young people.”
The Youth Initiative is a cross community effort spearheaded by
United Way in partnership with other community stakeholders to increase
the health, well-being and long-term success of young people in
Windham County, Vermont.
Implication of the effort is the shared commitment to the vision
of "Thriving Youth-Strong Communities" by all stakeholders
invested in the future of Windham County.
The guiding premise of the Youth Initiative is that by working
together, the youth organizations, schools, professionals and other
concerned community members in Windham County will pool their creativity
and their resources to a more efficient and effective cross community
strategy, in the interest of shared outcomes for area youth. The
initiative will complement formal resources with the informal, resulting
in a well rounded environment for all young people to thrive in
Windham County.
The vision challenges every community member to participate in
the plan for the long-term success of Windham County youth and in
turn the long- term success of the community.
