Caring is your super power! United Way of Windham County strives to mobilize the caring power of our community to make positive change. We focus on the Health, Opportunity, Prosperity and Education of our community members, fostering HOPE in Windham County. Our annual Day of Caring is an opportunity for you to give back, learn about a local nonprofit's mission, and spend the day with other caring volunteers!
Use your superpower at our 9th annual Day of Caring on Saturday, September 22nd from 8 am -12 noon. Day of Caring kicks-off at 8 AM with breakfast at the American Legion in Brattleboro. We'll be sending groups of volunteers out to 12 or more volunteer sites countywide to learn about the work they're doing and help them with gleaning, sorting food, trail building, deep cleaning, and more! Every year on Day of Caring, we have seen about 125 caring superheroes come together to strenthen our community - we hope to see you there!
We are going green! That means that this year, there will be no one-time-use plastic waterbottles, no plastic bags, and as little paper as possible! We ask that all volunteers bring a reusable waterbottle and fill it up at breakfast (water will be provided at our volunteer sites also!). Volunteers will receive an awesome reusable grocery bag and a T-shirt that we hope you will use year-round! Let us know if you have any recommendation for us on how Day of Caring can be 100% green!
Join as a team, with one or two friends, or as an individual. We are excited to see your caring power in action!
