Communications and Social Media Tools

Given the way our world has turned virtual since COVID-19, digital communications will play an important role in getting the word out about your campaign. Here are recommendations on creating the perfect communications plan.
Pro tip: Make sure messaging is consistent across all channels!

You can maximize your campaign’s impact on the community by sharing your support on social media and encouraging your employees to do the same. But some things make more sense for internal communications. We’re breaking down when and where to share your campaign excitement!

For Email and Intranet

  • Rally your company around your campaign goal.
  • Share updates on campaign through your company’s Intranet – pictures or videos from virtual competitions, video message from leadership, etc.
  • Share United Way of Windham County's campaign video.
  • Sign-ups for virtual event opportunities (ex. Webinars, Zoom Lunch ‘n’ Learns, etc.).
  • Explain the benefits and opportunities that come with United Way’s Leadership Giving.
  • Say ‘thank you.’ Send a personalized Thank You note by email or intranet.
  • Download Campaign Communications Template with sample emails and personalize them!

For Social Media

  • Show how your company is getting creative for your campaign (ex. virtual rallies, games, raffles, etc.).
  • Let your customers know how you’re giving back to the community with campaign updates.
  • Share United Way of Windham County's campaign video.
  • Encourage employees to share why they support United Way using #WindhamUnited.
  • Encourage your employees to share your posts. Brand messages reached 561% further when shared by employees on social.
